Review Of Wildflower by Becky Jenkinson

Becky Jenkinson took me on an emotional roller coaster with her book Wildflower.

Imagine living a life whereby you are cursed to only speak truths. Well, that’s Felicity’s life. Sidelined due to her inability to lie, she seeks solace in her flowers. When she gets a request for a certain flower, she crosses paths with Willoh Vane, a sorcerer forced to be an outcast. However, the flowers are powerful, and in the wrong hands, they may cause harm.

The plot had me in a chokehold. With its fast-paced nature, the narrative holds the attention of readers from start to end. With each chapter having an interesting event happening, the narrative flows beautifully. The vulnerability the protagonists portrayed deeply enhanced the narrative, as their innocence and ability to hold space for others contributed to the story’s plot. This book is a representation of how, as humans, we need to be kind to one another, as we don’t know who we affect with our words or actions.

Thank you, Del Rey, for this ARC
