The Furious (2025) Movie Review – Why Everyone’s Talking About It

If you are brave enough to change yourself, you can change the world

Navin (Joe Taslim).

The Furious is about Wang Wei, played by Xie Miao, as he tries to rescue his daughter Rainy (Yang Enyou) after corrupt police fail to aid him. Narvin (Joe Talism) is on a quest to end a syndicate of abductors continuing the legacy of his journalist wife who went missing during the case.

It dives headfirst into its central premise with the disappearance of Matia Pham (Jeeja Yanin). She vanishes while tracking the kidnappers. It follows with viewers being introduced to the mute father-daughter duo. After Rainy’s kidnapping, the movie escalates into a well-choreographed action, with both Wang and Narvin moving in on the network of captors.

Every scene was deliberately acted out. When Wang Wei chases down the truck, we are shown how the slippers he had on inconvenienced him, making him leave them behind. In a future scene, he makes a choice and grabs his boots. His character, though mute, said a lot with his actions; maybe it’s the reason his partnership with Narvin worked.

The sound design had me in a trance as it complemented the visuals. A finger to the eye socket or a finger being bitten off, each scene held weight when accompanied by the well-matched sounds. This narrative is a fair representation of justice prevailing as well as a brutal statement to family dynamics and sacrifice.

Devotion shown by how many hits their bodies can take to bring those kids home.
